Safety & Age Suitability – nitz.chat
Last updated: 27 June 2026
nitz.chat is deliberately designed to be safe for everyone. Here is how — not through content filtering, but through the structure of the app itself: strangers cannot initiate contact, no one is anonymous, and there is no broad distribution of user content.
1. No strangers — connecting is always deliberate
- There is no search, no user directory and no discovery. You cannot find or message anyone you do not already know.
- Connecting is only possible in two ways:
- scanning a QR code in person (valid for 5 minutes, single use), or
- a deliberately shared invite code (valid for 5 minutes, single use).
- An unknown person therefore cannot reach a child out of the blue.
2. No anonymity
Every contact is someone you knowingly added yourself. If anyone behaves inappropriately, the recipient — and, for a child, the parent — always knows who sent the message and can act on it.
3. No broad distribution of content
- No feed, no public profiles, no status, no channels, no public posting.
- Messages go only to the person or small group you are deliberately connected with.
- nitz.chat is therefore a private messenger, not a platform that broadly distributes user content.
4. Controls & safety net
- Block — blocked users can no longer send invitations or messages.
- Report — report inappropriate behaviour for review on the server.
- Leave — you can leave any chat at any time.
- Terms of use must be accepted at registration.
- Questions or reports: [email protected] (response within 24 hours).
5. Privacy & encryption
- All messages are end-to-end encrypted (ECDH + AES-GCM).
- The server stores no readable message content.
- No tracking, no analytics, no advertising, no personal data.
6. Why this approach fits age suitability
Because messages are end-to-end encrypted, nitz.chat cannot scan or filter message content — and we deliberately do not. Instead, abuse is prevented structurally: there is no inflow of strangers, no anonymity and no broad distribution. Here, safety comes from consent and accountability, not from reading private conversations.
Summary
- No search, no discovery — strangers cannot make contact.
- Connecting only via in-person QR code or a deliberately shared code.
- No anonymity: you always know who is messaging.
- No feed or public content — private messenger.
- Block, report, leave + mandatory terms.
- End-to-end encrypted, no tracking.
